About The Burlington Clothes Exchange Event Advisory Board
The Burlington Clothes Exchange Advisory Board is a group of dedicated volunteers who provide guidance and support and are responsible for helping to plan and execute Burlington Clothes Exchange events.
BCE Event Advisory Board members are expected to:
• Serve as ambassadors for the Clothes Exchange in our community and represent the interests of the Clothes Exchange
• Build and foster relationships with sponsors and other key partners
• Take on at least one leadership role pertaining to the event
• Sell at least 10 tickets to the event
• Provide thoughtful, constructive and pertinent advice
• Participate in an event evaluation process
• Participate in fundraising efforts
• Make a personal contribution at your highest level of giving
• Recruit new board members and volunteers
• Advisory Board members are also welcome to participate in the beneficiary selection process.
Time Commitment
• Attend at least four, 2 – 3 hour long meetings per year
• Participate in a two hour event volunteer training
• Be available to volunteer at the event
• Volunteer at pre-event activities such as clothes drives
• Respond to requests, via e-mail and phone, for feedback and input on a variety of items in a timely manner
• Serve for at least 1 year
The BCE Event Advisory Board Executive Committee
The Advisory Board is led by an Executive Committee, made up of 2 – 4 members. These volunteers contribute substantially to The Burlington Clothes Exchange event by facilitating Advisory Board meetings and communications, recruiting and training new Advisory Board members, selecting our beneficiary and taking a leadership role in event fund raising and event execution. In addition to attending Advisory Board meetings, Executive Committee members should expect to meet monthly.
