The Clothes Exchange of Bergen County hosts event on May 14

The Clothes Exchange of Bergen County invites savvy shoppers to save money and make over their wardrobes as they shop for a cause during Bergen County Clothes Exchange on May 14 at The Woman’s Club of Ridgewood, 215 West Ridgewood Ave., Ridgewood.

At the event, shoppers will find great prices on new, lightly used and vintage designer clothes and accessories (bags, belts, hats, jewelry, shoes) donated by fashion conscious women and area boutiques. The Bergen County Clothes Exchange will benefit Oasis – A Haven for Women and Children. Raffles and a silent auction will complete the evening and raise additional funds to benefit the organization.

“What’s wonderful about this event is that at the end of the night, women can leave feeling great. They’ve gotten some terrific deals on designer clothes, they’ve helped an extremely worthy cause, and they’ve had lots of fun doing it,” explains Lisa Halperin, co-founder of The Clothes Exchange of Bergen County.

“We encourage women to come out, bring their friends, have a glass of wine and enjoy some truly guilt-free shopping,” adds co-founder Tracy Mazie.

All proceeds from the event will go directly to Oasis, an organization dedicated to providing food, clothing, educational and other opportunities to women and their young children to help women compete in today's marketplace.

Presale (with a $50 donation to Oasis) is from 5:30-7:00 p.m.; doors will be open to the general public from 7-9 p.m.

To donate clothing or accessories, or for tickets, contact Lisa Halperin at theclothesexchange.bergen.nj@gmail.com. To learn more about The Clothes Exchange, visit theclothesexchange.org.

Here's how it works: The Clothes Exchange collects high quality, gently worn women's clothing and accessories from Bergen County’s finest fashionistas and local retailers, including Marcia's Attic. We sort, price and sell it all at the May 14th Exchange Event.  At the event, bid on fabulous silent auction items including a Bobbi Brown make-over party and a Tory Burch pony hair bag, and many more; or try your luck in the raffle with prizes including personal training sessions, a Nintendo Wii, and so many more.  The event will also feature bags and accessories from Jennifer"s Jewels.

Shop for a great cause: It's easy to forget that you're at a fundraiser when you're at the Exchange - you are shopping, after all! At the end of the night, you'll feel great about your finds and your funds, knowing the proceeds from this year's Exchange support Oasis – A Haven for Women and Children (a non-profit organization dedicated to feeding and clothing needy women and children , and offering educational opportunities to help women compete in today’s marketplace) and the GoldbergBerdais Child Development Center ( non-profit organization that provides high quality childcare and early education program for children whose parents live and work in northern Bergen County).

Your support: You can support this year's event by donating your high quality, gently used women's clothing and accessories (the ones you once loved, but rarely seem to wear) and by shopping at The Clothes Exchange.

Please check out our new website to learn more about donating, volunteering and shopping.
Save the date, save your clothes. See you at The Exchange!
