What happens to my clothes once I donate them to The Clothes Exchange?

A team of fashion savvy volunteers sort through all the donations and select only the best of the best; high quality, gently worn, clean, stylish items. Merchandise is priced, prepped for display and stored until our Event. They day of the Event, our volunteers transform Ridgewood Women's Club into a shopping boutique and display merchandise. Most of our garments are hung or neatly folded on tables.

We do not pay for merchandise. We do not consign merchandise and we cannot return merchandise you donate.

What do you do with the clothes you don’t keep?
All items that don’t make the cut or are left over after our event are donated to charitable organizations such as The Goodwill and the Salvation Army.

How are items priced?

All merchandised is tagged and priced. Prices are based on the brand, quality and desirability of the garments. A pair of Joe's Jean may cost $45, a J Crew cashmere sweater could run about $25, and you might spend $40 for a fabulous Kate Spade purse.  New evening dresses that typically retail for a few hundred dollars have been sold for around $60.
