Volunteer
The Clothes Exchange of Bergen County, NJ is a 100% volunteer run organization. We rely on the talent, passion and expertise of dozens of volunteers to make our event a success. Here are some of the ways you could get involved.
Join the 2010 Clothes Exchange Leadership Team
The braintrust and workhorse of The Clothes Exchange is our Leadership Team. This group of hard working, dedicated volunteers is responsible for planning and executing Clothes Exchange events in Bergen County. Planning for a Clothes Exchange typically kicks-off six months prior to the event. Meetings are usually held once a month. If you are looking for a significant volunteer commitment, serving on our Leadership Team may be right for you.
Volunteer your expertise
If you can't commit to joining the Leadership Team, but still have talent and energy to lend to The Clothes Exchange, you can get involved by offering your consulting services or joining one of our Planning Committees.

Organize a Clothing Drive
In addition to hosting clothing drop-off days, we rely on volunteers to collect clothing donations from their friends and co-workers. We've put together a Clothing Drive Kit to make organizing your own workplace clothing drive easy. If you are interested in helping us collect merchandise donations, let us know.
Volunteer at the Event
Volunteers make The Clothes Exchange work. Let us know if you are interested in joining one of these Event Volunteer Teams:
Event Volunteers
Event volunteers are needed to staff the event from 4 pm to 9 pm. Volunteers greet guests, staff the dressing room, restock merchandise, act as personal shoppers and stylists, manage traffic, and work the check-out line.

Greeters:
First on the scene! Your smiling face and dynamic personality welcomes shoppers to the event.
Check-In:
You're organized, friendly and efficient. Help register shoppers and send them off to shop, shop, shop.
Shopping Hosts:
You're fashion-savvy. You help to keep the space organized and clean during the event while also helping shoppers select fabulous items!
Dressing Room Attendants/Clothing Runners:
You're essential. Help shoppers find the right shirt, the right size...and keep The Clothes Exchange looking fabulously neat.
Raffle / Silent AuctionTeam
You are a born salesperson. Help sell raffle tickets for AMAZING prizes while guests wait to enter the event and while they are shopping.
Check-Out
You're the last stop in the shop, you are efficient and willing to encourage shoppers to give a little more!
Cashiers
Complete the Clothes Exchange experience with a smile!
Set-Up Team
Volunteers with an eye for design and retail knowledge are needed to help us transform The Ridgewood Women's Club into a shopping boutique. Set-up starts at 8 am and runs until we are done, usually around 3:00 pm.
Clean-Up Crew
After it's all over, when the last shopper has shopped, a team of energetic folks are needed to pack-up, clean-up and organize the left-over merchandise for distribution. Clean-up begins around 9 pm and usually takes a couple of hours. Music is provided so clean-up feels more like a dance party!
